Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour apple juice
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (3 oz) flavored gelatin (green apple)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup sour apple candy or sour sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sour apple juice and tequila over medium heat. Stir until heated but not boiling.
  2. Gradually whisk in the granulated sugar until fully dissolved.
  3. Once the mixture is heated, remove it from the heat and sprinkle the flavored gelatin and unflavored gelatin over the liquid. Let it sit for a minute to bloom.
  4. Whisk the mixture until all the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into silicone molds, filling each mold about three-quarters full.
  6. Place the molds in the refrigerator and let them set for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  7. Once set, carefully remove the gummies from the molds.
  8. In a shallow bowl, combine the sour apple candy or sour sugar. Roll each gummy in the mixture to coat.
  9. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
